Treatment
Six implants instead of four, spreading the load of a full arch more evenly. €6,600 for the whole mouth with a zirconia restoration, including the implants, the temporary bridge and the definitive prosthesis.
The upper jaw is softer than the lower one and the biting forces in a full arch are considerable. Six implants shorten the unsupported span at the back of the bridge, reduce the stress on each fixture and leave a margin: if one implant were ever lost, the bridge is still carried. For patients who grind their teeth, who have a strong bite, or who are restoring the upper arch, six is the protocol we recommend.
If bone volume is limited, if the budget matters and the lower arch is being restored, All-on-4 gives an excellent result and avoids grafting. More implants are not automatically better; they are better when the bone and the bite call for them. The CBCT decides.
A whole-mouth rehabilitation on six implants finished in zirconia is €6,600 whole mouth. That covers the six implants, the surgery, the fixed temporary bridge and the definitive zirconia prosthesis, with all appointments and adjustments over the two trips.
Additional procedures are priced separately and only when the imaging shows they are necessary: extractions, bone grafting, guided bone regeneration and sinus lift. A porcelain finish instead of zirconia is quoted on request. The definitive plan and price are confirmed after clinical examination in Tirana.
Where the upper posterior bone is thin, a sinus lift or bone regeneration may be carried out at the same appointment as the implants. This is planned and priced in advance from the CBCT, so it never appears as a surprise cost while you are in the chair. Bone substitute is €200 and a membrane €200; a full regeneration procedure is €500.
The same as All-on-4: swelling for two to three days, soft diet for eight weeks, careful daily cleaning under the bridge for the life of the restoration. Recall every six months, either with us or with a dentist at home who receives our records.
FAQ
For the upper jaw and for heavy bites, yes. For a lower arch with good bone and a normal bite, four implants perform very well and the extra cost buys little. We recommend per case rather than by default.
Around four to six months from surgery to the final bridge, spread over two trips to Tirana of about a week each.
Yes, full mouth, twelve implants, in a single surgical session. It is more demanding on the patient and we usually recommend sedation. Recovery is longer, around a week of significant swelling.
The €6,600 price is for monolithic zirconia, which is what most patients choose. Porcelain and titanium-acrylic alternatives are quoted on request and their advantages and limitations are explained before you decide.
